Natchitoches Meat Pie Co. Ships Millions Each Year

More than 8 million – that’s how many meat pies the Famous Natchitoches Meat Pie Co. shipped in 2006.

The company has been making the 4-ounce and 1-ounce treats at its Coushatta plant in Red River Parish since the mid-1980s, using these ingredients: ground beef, ground pork, onions, peppers, garlic, flour and seasonings. Forty employees produce 60,000 meat pies daily, along with crawfish pies and other frozen foods.
