Published Jun 27, 2008

General Motors Corp. has been in Shreveport for 27 years, and is ready to produce its fifth – and largest – vehicle yet.
Beginning in fall 2008, the Shreveport plant will be manufacturing the 2009 H3T Hummer. The vehicle will be a pickup version of the hefty, muscular Hummer that is the civilian counterpart of the military’s Humvee.
The Shreveport plant employs 2,200 people. Since 2002, GM has spent more than $1.5 billion to upgrade the facility.
